An advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) is a RN who has completed advanced coursework and clinical education beyond that required of the generalist registered nurse (RN) role. According to the International Council of Nurses, an NP/advanced practice registered nurse is a registered nurse who has acquired the knowledge base, decision-making skills, and clinical competencies for expanded practice beyond that of an RN, the characteristics of which would be determined by the context in which he or she is credentialed to practice.”

Rachel Derwick is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed through the Florida Board of Nursing. She graduated from the University of North Florida earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She then earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Central Florida while specializing in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.

Rachel specializes in treating patients of all ages in General Dermatology. She has a special interest in skin cancer detection and prevention and enjoys educating patients on sun protection. She is particularly fond of treating acne and rosacea patients of any age. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Society of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association and the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Rachel is originally from south Florida and enjoys her time outside of work with her young son. She has a great time being anywhere outdoors, but particularly loves camping and spending time on the beach.
