BOTOX® is the brand name for botulinum toxin A, a highly purified therapeutic muscle-relaxing agent. The medication relaxes the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. When injected in small doses in specific areas, BOTOX injections block nerve muscles responsible for the repetitive actions that cause fine lines and wrinkles. In this way, BOTOX smoothes the lines in the skin that make you look tired or angry.
Using a very fine needle, a qualified physician or physician assistant will inject BOTOX Cosmetic into the designated muscles in your face that are causing lines and wrinkles. You may experience brief, mild discomfort during the injection. Taking only a few minutes, BOTOX treatment requires no anesthetic. Immediately following the BOTOX treatment, some patients may experience mild bruising, which will go away shortly. You will see your wrinkles begin to fade within days; with a maximum effect in 3-4 weeks. The effects of BOTOX Cosmetic typically last up to 3-6 months, although many have reported results lasting up to a full year. After several BOTOX treatments, the results may be prolonged.
BOTOX Cosmetic treatment will relax the muscles in your face and soften the skin, giving you a more relaxed and youthful appearance. For optimum results, many patients choose to use BOTOX in conjunction with fillers, skin rejuvenation therapy, and/or laser skin resurfacing.
Outcome will vary among patients and additional treatments may be necessary. There is no guarantee that wrinkles or folds will completely disappear.
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE XC is the newest addition to the JUVÉDERM collection of fillers. VOLLURE™ XC softens moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles by adding volume to the lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth to produce subtle and long-lasting results for up to 18 months.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. It gives you a subtle lift, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile, for up to 2 years, in patients over the age of 21. It’s different than JUVÉDERM® XC and works on a different area of the face. JUVÉDERM® XC smoothes out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, like parentheses. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC, however, adds volume to the cheek area.
The injection itself usually takes approximately 30 minutes. There is minimal recovery time. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize risk of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites.

Restylane Silk and Restylane Lyft®
Restylane Silk® can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane Silk may also be used for lip enhancement. Restylane Silk is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines), the corners of the mouth and marionette lines — the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline.
Restylane® Lyft is approved by the FDA for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21. This is in addition to treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines). Over time, the natural fat that surrounds the cheeks begins to deteriorate, resulting in sagging skin, more prominent wrinkles and a reduction of volume. Restylane Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L®, is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel used to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face. Radiesse® is a synthetic injectable filler that has been FDA-approved to reduce moderate to severe wrinkles, folds and creases around the nose and mouth by augmenting the skin’s natural collagen supply. It is a safe, effective and long-lasting alternative to injectable collagen and other dermal fillers for not only smoothing wrinkles but also adding volume and contour to the face for an overall younger, fuller, smoother appearance. With just one or two Radiesse treatments, you can enjoy a beautiful, natural look that lasts.
Radiesse is composed of microspheres in a water-based gel. The microspheres—made of a substance called calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA)—stimulate the production of collagen to smooth lines and wrinkles and also add younger-looking suppleness to the face. There is no need for pre-treatment allergy testing, and it is absorbed naturally by the body over time.
What areas does Radiesse treat?
Radiesse is especially effective for filling and correcting smile lines, nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth), marionette lines (from the corners of the mouth to the chin), and other lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It can also be used to treat depressed scars and oral commissures.
Treatments typically take 30 minutes and require only local anesthetic. There is little to no downtime; many patients return to their normal activities after their appointment.
Patients typically need only one or two treatments to achieve the full effect of Radiesse. Your doctor may recommend a follow-up appointment to determine whether you would benefit from additional treatments.
When will I see the results and how long do the results last?
Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for up to a year or more. Touch-up treatments can prolong Radiesse’s effects.
Sculptra’s main component is an alpha hydroxy acid called poly-L-lactic acid, or PLLA. It is safe, synthetic (artificially created), biocompatible (can be used harmlessly in the body), biodegradable (able to be broken down in the body) and long-lasting. PLLA has been used for more than 20 years in many surgical products, including disolvable sutures and soft tissue implants.
What will happen on the day of treatment?
At your Sculptra treatment session, you will be asked to remove any makeup, and the area of skin to be treated will be swabbed clean. Then, your doctor will administer Sculptra in a series of injections with a very fine needle. Afterwards, you will be given an ice pack to reduce swelling. It is important to massage the treated area to ensure that the material is evenly distributed beneath the skin. Sculptra’s effects are not immediate. Improvement in skin volume occurs gradually.
Will I need more than one treatment?
More than one treatment will be necessary to achieve the best results. Patients with more severe lipoatrophy generally need additional injections. In your follow-up appointment a few weeks after your first Sculptra session, your doctor will determine whether you need a touch-up treatment.
How long do the effects last?
The results of Sculptra vary from patient to patient. In a clinical study, the effects were shown to last for up to two years after the first treatment session in most patients.
The first and only FDA-approved injectable drug available that contours and improves the appearance of moderate to severe submental fullness, sometimes referred to as a “double chin,” is now available. Submental fullness is a common, yet under-treated aesthetic condition that is often resistant to diet and exercise alone and influenced by several factors, including aging, genetics and weight gain.
Each in-office treatment session with KYBELLA™ is typically 15-20 minutes. When injected into subcutaneous fat, KYBELLA™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved with KYBELLA™, re-treatment is not expected.
With this nonsurgical treatment, many patients experience visible results in two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart. Up to six treatments may be administered. Treatment with KYBELLA™ is customized to the patient’s aesthetic goals for an improved chin profile.
The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and formation of areas of hardness in the treatment area. In clinical trials, the incidence and severity of most side effects decreased with subsequent KYBELLA™ treatments.
